Yikes!

I was just thumbing through my desk calendar and realized I forgot an important birthday.  Darn!  I don't use my desk calendar much and it wasn't on the other ones I do use.  I decided to make a pocket calendar for her and loved the excuse to stop what I was doing and scrap a bit.

I used Deja Views papers.

Larry and I got home Monday night and we were just beat!  Still are but think we are recovering.  Larry got a ton of chores done at the ranch and I helped where I could.  He got about a cord of wood cut and stacked and another cord is ready to be split.  We also got a lot of tree limbing done.  Sage loved the ranch but think we overtired her a couple times.  Have to remember she is just a baby.  We did have one mishap.  Larry was using the chainsaw and I decided to groom the horse.  I put Sage in the back if the pickup thinking she would be safe.  Then I heard a yelp and saw that she had jumped out of the truck and hurt her front leg.  She had gotten up on the wheel well and jumped from there!  I was just sick!  But she was fine after a bit and no limp!  We go to the vet today for her 2nd series of shots and will have it looked at anyway.  She did pretty well traveling although seems to get diahrea every time.  Hope that gets better the more she travels.  Here are a few pics from the ranch:

This shows some of the limbing we did.  Look how crooked that tree on the left is!  It should probably come down.  There were limbs clear down to the bottom of the tree and we didn't know how bad it was leaning till we limbed it.  Yikes!

Larry and I discovered this old piece of equipment while on a walk.  Think it's an old seeder.

Good news!

Finally some good news for my mom.  Her mamo and ultrasound showed the spot that was found 6 months ago is gone, nowhere to be seen!  The surgeon also pronounced her to be clean with no signs of cancer!  This is such good news.  I was prepared for the worst and I think my mom was, too.  She will still have to go back in 6 months for more mamo's and again meeting with the surgeon.  Not sure how long the every 6 months appts. will continue.  She is now going to concentrate on scheduling some appts. that she has been putting off not knowing what she would be facing after these appts.  So it's all good right now.  Breathing a big sigh of relief!!!

DWTS:  Can't believe Wayne Newton didn't go home last night!  It's Billy Ray all over again.  Ugh!  Boy everyone was shocked, weren't they?

We had an uneventful drive from Seattle to Spokane yesterday, with a wonderful stop in North Bend to hit the outlet shops there.  We both each got a pair of jeans, 2 tops and a pair of shoes!!  I also got a nightgown!!  It's been so cold and rainy and I no longer have any long sleeve tops that fit me.  I will be wearing one of them today.   Mom's first appt. is at 8:00am and the 2nd is at 1:00pm.  We are going to ask if we can delay our checkout until after noon so we have somewhere to hang out.  They have done that for us before so hope they will again.

DWTS:  Okay I'm sorry but Wayne Newton needs to be the next to go.  The guy can't dance.

Later...

Hello from Seattle!

My mom and I are killing time in the hotel room waiting for the commuter traffic to settle down before venturing out for Spokane.  We have had a fun couple days starting with a lovely wedding on Saturday followed by a fantastic reception.  This couple has been together for 6 years and you could tell they put a lot of thought into all the details.   It was very personal but also very fun!!  One really neat thing was they had made up blue and pink gift bags for all the "future brides and grooms" and gave them out to all the kids who attended.  Inside was lots of fun things including a stuffed bear, crayons, tablets and lots more!  Riley loved her bag!  Yesterday we went to a brunch for the bride and groom at my cousin's house and watched them open gifts.  Boy did they get a lot of nice things!!!  After that we headed to Pike's Market and spent several hours there followed by an awesome dinner at Fisherman's.  The only downside was the constant rain, but we are in Seattle afterall!!!  Here are a few pics from the day.

The last one is of Riley on the beautiful carousel outside of Fisherman's restaurant.

Sage did real well on the trip.  Larry and the puppy stayed at Shelly's as pets aren't allowed at the hotel.  At first Sage was scared of Riley but she soon got over it and those two had a blast.  Sage has one tug of war toy and she was dragging Riley around the house with it!!!  I didn't get to see it but guess it was pretty funny!!  Larry went home with her yesterday around noon.   She did very well for her first road trip.  I can't wait till Larry gets to the ranch with her this Saturday!!!  Sage will love the ranch!

Off to Spokane!!!

I scrapped

I decided to scrap today and made these 2008-2009 pocket calendars for my cousins.  Two of them are WSU alumni.  Since I will be seeing all of them at the wedding this weekend figured I better get them done. Even though there was a dozen other things I should have been doing it was fun to scrap again.

The yellow in the last one is scanning badly.  It's more gold like in the stripe.

We are off to Seattle tomorrow for the wedding and then my mother and I will be heading to Spokane on Monday for her Dr. appts. on Tuesday.   It will be off to Orofino for the rest of the week when Larry joins us that weekend.  Hope to get firewood in for my mom and hopefully some other projects tackled.  Please think good thoughts for my mom's Dr' appts.

Rain

The rains that we have been hearing about are here.  I woke up during the night and could hear it.  After a fairly dry summer, it is welcomed rain.  The only bummer is when we need to get the puppy out for her potty breaks.  She really hates wet grass!  I was also hoping to get the car washed tonight and there might be a break in the rain so may get to it yet.  At the very least I'll get the interior done.

I had my first meltdown with the puppy yesterday!  I was trying to mop the kitchen floor and the puppy kept chasing the mop and sliding all around the wet floor getting it dirty again.  Then I was walking on the hallway rug and felt a warm wet spot!!!  Ugh!  I was soooo mad!  I grabbed her food and water bowls and out to the garage she went!  Now we have had her in the garage a couple times when we had to be gone so this wasn't the first time for her to be in there.  When I went out about 15-20 minutes later she had pooped, and thrown up in several places!  She has never thrown up the whole time we have had her!  Larry got home about this time and we took her to the backyard where she continued to throw up.  She also seemed to have trouble swallowing, but also kept eating leaves only to throw those up a couple minutes later!!!  I was freaking out and  wondering what could be causing it.  Before we even brought Sage home we puppy proofed the garage going so far as to put fencing around the hot water heater so I felt confident that she didn't ingest anything she shouldn't have.  Larry called the vet and they suggested Pepto Bismol or cottage cheese and said to call us in the morning if she was still throwing up.  She was much better in about an hour and I now think that she was just so upset at being "banished" to the garage that she made herself sick.  So now we are trying to help her think of the garage as a fun place to be especially as she will be spending a lot of time in there next week as I will be gone.  And I do want her to eat in there as well.  Oh my, this puppy business is so hard!!!  Here is where Sage sleeps when I am on the computer.  Isn't she getting big?  We weigh her every Monday and last week she gained 4 pounds!

Wasn't Grey's good last night?  It's going to be a fantastic season.  I tried to watch Big Shots last night but fell asleep, again.  I can't even use NyQuil as an excuse this time!

Better!

I think I'm feeling better today!  Hard to tell with having a NyQuil hangover.  The NyQuil is also interfering with my new season TV watching.  I keep falling asleep during whatever I'm watching at 10:00pm!  Ugh!  I fell asleep halfway through Boston Legal and last night, same thing with Dirty Sexy Money!  I tried watching the new Bionic Woman last night.  I have a feeling it's going to be one of these shows that you really have to pay attention to, like Lost.  Not sure I want to work that hard at following a show.  I might try one more episode before deciding.  I think the right person went home on DWTS last night.  She sure was pretty, though.  I guess skinny doesn't always mean you are in shape as she didn't seem to have any strength at all.  I was surprised the billionaire guy was in the bottom two as I felt it should have been Wayne Newton.  Think he will be another Billy Ray Cyrus, he can sing but he can't dance.  Wayne will have a big fan base already so I see him staying around for awhile.

It's a beautiful day here in the Gorge, but guess we are to get rain in tonight.  I walked (okay, drug) the dog up to the mailbox and I'm amazed at all the falling leaves!  Sage loves to chase leaves.  I checked the Seattle weather and looks like rain up there, too.  Luckily the wedding we are going to on Saturday is indoors.  Sunday we will be going to a wedding brunch and then we all plan to head down to Pikes Market.  Hope the weather isn't too miserable.  Would also love to do the Space Needle if time and patience permits.  My mother has never been to either Seattle landmark.  We'll see...

WW was a bust last night.  Get this - I was up .1 of a pound!!!!  Oh well, I guess that's okay considering I had company Friday night and had leftovers the rest of the weekend!  Ugh!  Some days I have zero willpower!

Woke up during the night with a sore throat and just generally feeling crappy.  Hope I shake it before the weekend.  I absolutely can't be sick!

Loved DWTS last night!  They were all so good for the first night I thought, especially the Cheeta girl chick!!  Wow!  Also Derek, who is Jennie Garth's partner, is so good!  His sister is the young blond, Julianne, who was Apollo's partner last year.  Think she was 19 last year so Derek must be around 21 or so.  I went to the ABC site and they aren't listing ages, but I know I saw Julianne's age last year and pretty sure she was 19.   They are both so good!  I feel asleep during The Bachelor!  Did I miss anything good?  Tonight is more DWTS and The Biggest Loser, which was a big topic of discussion at WW last night.
EDITED:  I just found a site that has Julianne's birthdate as 7/31/1988 so she was just 18 last season!!!  Wow!  And I found where Derek was born in 85 so he must be 22.
